Behind the bottle: Daily Supplement Serum

Skincare is a personal journey and we recognise that each of us have different needs, concerns, and goals for our complexions. 

That's why we created the Daily Supplement Serum: a topical multivitamin that not only works to maintain your skin’s health while reducing the appearance of multiple skin concerns, but has also been developed to bring inclusivity to the luxury skincare experience.

As our first product, we set out to ensure the Daily Supplement Serum encapsulated the Añuli mission: to offer a premium skincare experience rooted in science, joy, and the power of African botanicals.

The Formulation

Developing a skincare serum is a complex and multi-faceted process that involves extensive research, testing, and formulation. And, like most skincare products, we didn’t get to the perfect formulation on the first try. 

We dedicated a large part of our journey to crafting a formulation that featured ingredients which have been scientifically proven to aid skin’s health. We also wanted to ensure that, when combined, those ingredients encourage you to indulge in a therapeutic skin care experience.

We worked for months with multiple chemists to develop several iterations of the serum. This process included identifying ingredients that actually nourish your skin (the final product features 20 natural oils selected for their naturally effective properties). As well as crafting a serum that offers the consistency, scent, and texture that each contributes to an elevating skincare experience.

Eventually, we landed on a formula for the Daily Supplement Serum as it is today: a blend of 20 natural oils that, when combined, contain vitamins A to E collectively as well as antioxidant and antibacterial properties to enhance your skin’s health and appearance. 

When applied, you can expect to experience a lightweight, non-greasy and easily absorbed formula that leaves skin feeling soft, silky, and cared for. And, with no added fragrance, you’ll be treated to the transportive scent of natural botanicals—making our serum the perfect addition to your daily skincare ritual.

To put the serum to the test, we used a third party to share it among a group of consumers with varied skin tones. After using it for 4 weeks, 100% of testers stated that their face had a noticeable glow on application and that their skin feels healthier overall after 4 weeks of daily usage.

The Testing

As Registered Nurses, and as a result of their own skincare journeys, our brand’s founders are hyper-aware of the importance of ensuring the safety and efficacy of Añuli’s products. 

We put the Daily Supplement Serum through rigorous clinical, dermatologist, and sensitivity testing to make sure that, while effective, it is also gentle on your skin. These tests provide a comprehensive understanding of our product's potential benefits while also ensuring that it is suitable for use on a wide range of skin types and conditions.

As we did so, we were also sure to pay due diligence in ensuring the Daily Supplement Serum is a universal skincare solution. 

We believe that to truly achieve safe and effective skin care for all, people of all skin types and tones must be part of skincare trials. So, recognizing that many skincare brands and products show under-representation in their clinical testing, we were intentional in making sure that our tests were inclusive of subjects from diverse backgrounds, complexions, ages, and sexes. 

In our third-party dermatologist-reviewed clinical study, our serum was tested by 58 women and men aged 20-47. Over 46% of which were people of color identifying as either Hispanic, African American/Black, Asian, or mixed race.
